The boy pictured was diagnosed with a brain tumor and metastatic adenocarcinoma of the colon, and has faced an incredibly challenging journey that has included scans, biopsies, surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. Just two years ago, their mother was struck by a car, leaving her paraplegic and reliant on a wheelchair. Before their diagnosis, the child was their mother’s primary caregiver. With the mother unemployed, the family now depends on an aunt or wheelchair-accessible transportation, such as Medicaid or Uber, to get around. Their resilience in the face of these overwhelming challenges is truly inspiring.

This was one of our families we were able to help in 2024 thanks to your contributions. This family has an 8-year-old girl battling osteosarcoma who is preparing to spend much of the next year in the hospital. She has an identical twin sister and a hardworking single mom who drives trucks to support their family. Unfortunately, her mom doesn’t have paid leave, and the family is facing significant financial challenges during this difficult time.

This 7-year-old boy is currently undergoing treatment for Osteosarcoma, spending a significant amount of time in the hospital. His family recently immigrated to the country shortly before his diagnosis earlier this year, which has added to the challenges they face. The parents rely on rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft for transportation to and from medical appointments. We were able to help make their holiday season a bit more joyful thanks to your contributions.

This family features a 19-year-old boy who was diagnosed with leukemia at the beginning of the year and has spent much of the year very ill and hospitalized. Both he and his sister have Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) and Autism Spectrum Disorder, which meant they had complex needs even before his cancer diagnosis. He lives with his parents, sister, uncle, and young cousin. The family is currently experiencing food and transportation insecurity, so grocery and gas gift cards would be greatly appreciated to help ease their burdens.
